Pushing Through

Over the last three years since the release of my very first book, I’ve answered people’s what next questions with the same line: “Something new is coming eventually! I promise!”

And eventually a full year passed—then two and then even three. Three entire years since I published my very first book under a completely different pen name, and I’ve spent a lot of time wondering the same exact thing.

What is next…?

A lot has changed for me in three years.

I’ve fully found myself and my identity—finally pushing to go by my preferred name 100% of the time and even switching it to become my pen name along the way, starting nearly completely fresh online.

I’ve gotten closer with those I consider dearest to me and gone to many fun places! I’ve worked a small handful of different jobs and made lifelong connections with some incredible people.

I’ve embraced all of my interests and enjoy experiencing the little things again. I’ve found a good balance between my writing work and my mental/physical health (Even managed to get that pesky carpal tunnel of mine fixed earlier this year!).

I’ve even more than quadrupled the original length of the series I started publishing three years ago as well as began to work on a few other projects that I’ve come to love as much.

I want to start sharing more of my stories with the world again, and I finally feel ready to get back at it.

Things have changed for my process since I published my first book, and it’s been a fun ride so far relearning how to do everything all over again from scratch. From start to finish, I’m taking things even more seriously and going down a completely different route for my self-publishing journey. I really enjoy the indie path, I had a lot of fun the first go around, and I’m working to expand my horizons even further. There’s been a lot of research involved, figuring out which distributors I’m going to work with, trying to understand how to do preorders properly, and even figuring out how to set up an actually functional website with a proper blog/newsletter—all things I wanted to do the last time but rushed myself to take the easier paths out just so I could produce something quickly.

This time, I have a fresh plan and things are finally beginning to get moving! The first goal that I’m wanting to complete is to rerelease the very first book I published.

Culled, the first in my now 13 book LGBTQ+ new adult dystopian series, The Immunity Chronicles, will be rereleased at the start of 2025! It will feature fresh and cleaner formatting, a new pen name, a new cover, and even a sneak peek at the first novella in the series that will be published not too long after. The official release date will be announced before the end of the year, and the brand new cover reveal is expected to happen within the next month. I’ve already even included a little tease of the new cover right here on the first post of this shiny new site of mine!

The Immunity Chronicles is the story of a population-controlled future where all illness is culled, and Dahlia Barrett must face the consequences of the yearly vaccine lottery while battling a forbidden mental illness. This series as a whole means the absolute world to me, and I’m so excited to finally start sharing more of it one book at a time. It’s a lot of fun for me to work on, and I hope Dahlia’s story can have even a fraction of the impact it’s had on me for others.

The original version of Culled will forever have a permanent place in my heart. I’m so grateful for everyone that read it, sent me wonderful messages, or even were kind enough to leave me a review! I’m also incredibly grateful for everyone who’s reached out since it’s initial release and questioned what was coming next! I could never begin to explain how much that and my first attempt at self-publishing as a whole meant to me in the long run. I’m more than ready to do things even better this time!

In the meantime, I plan to post regular updates here on this site! If you’d like these updates sent straight to your inbox, make sure to subscribe to the newsletter!

Thank you to anyone who’s been patient and stuck around these last three years as I’ve slowly worked to change things up. I hope I can make it up to you with everything I have planned, and hopefully we get to see some new faces join in on this journey along the way!

I look forward to updating more.

See you soon!
